Doorman for HubSpot

See the spam in your HubSpot.

Bots and AI-written pitches get past HubSpot's captcha and become contacts. They cost you marketing-contact fees, ping your reps and skew your reports. Connect HubSpot and Doorman reads the last 90 days of your form submissions the way a person would, then shows you exactly how much of it was spam.

Connect HubSpot and scan

The scan isn't switched on here yet.

Free, about a minute. Read-only: Doorman asks only to read form submissions, changes nothing in HubSpot, and forgets the access when the scan is done.

Doorman: spam
What Doorman writes on the HubSpot contact, within a minute of the submission.

What the scan shows you

  1. How much was spamEvery form submission from the last 90 days, read against what you sell. Real leads, pitches and bots, counted.
  2. What it costs youEach spam submission is a contact you pay for. The report estimates the monthly cost in marketing contacts.
  3. Why each one was caughtExamples from your own forms, each with the line that gave it away, so you can check the calls yourself.

Why HubSpot's captcha lets it through

Most of the spam reaching a B2B form isn't a bot clicking boxes any more. It's software that reads your website, writes a pitch that mentions your product by name, and fills in your form like a person would. A captcha checks whether something is a browser. It can't read.

Doorman can. It reads each submission against what your business sells and asks the question a person would: does this sender want what we sell, or want to sell us something?

Then turn on protection

Protection reads every new form submission within a minute of it arriving and tags the contact with a Doorman verdict: Real, Not sure or Spam, with the line that gave it away. Spam also goes into a "Doorman: spam" list. Real leads carry on exactly as before.

Then one HubSpot workflow, which Doorman gives you step by step, acts on the verdict: spam is set as non-marketing, so you stop paying for it, and your team is only notified about everything else. One click also tags the last 90 days. Nothing is deleted, and anything you rescue in Doorman is updated in HubSpot.

Questions

What access does the scan ask for?

Only HubSpot's forms permission, which lets Doorman list your forms and read their submissions. It can't read your other contacts, deals or email, and it can't change anything.

Do you keep my data?

Doorman uses the access once, for the scan, and doesn't store it. The report keeps the totals and a few examples so you can share it with your team, and it's deleted after 14 days. Up to 500 recent submissions are read.

How is the cost worked out?

HubSpot bills by marketing contacts. On Marketing Hub Professional, extra contacts cost about $50 a month per 1,000, so each spam contact counts as about $0.05 a month. It's an estimate: your plan and tier may differ.

What does protection need?

On top of reading forms, permission to read and update contacts (to write the Doorman verdict), to add the Doorman contact properties, and to manage the "Doorman: spam" list. It never deletes contacts, and you can disconnect at any time, which revokes its access.

HubSpot shows the permissions locked. What do I do?

If you ran the scan first, Doorman is already connected with read-only access, and HubSpot asks an admin to allow the extra permissions protection needs. In HubSpot go to Settings → Integrations → Connected apps → Doorman, enable the contact and list permissions, then turn on protection again.

Do I need a Doorman account?

Not for the scan. Turning on protection creates one for you from your HubSpot login, with 14 days of Pro free. Pricing is the same as any Doorman form: each submission read counts as one check.

Will my real leads be slowed down, or missed?

No. Doorman doesn't sit in front of your form: HubSpot takes the submission exactly as before, and Doorman tags the contact within a minute. The workflow Doorman recommends waits five minutes and holds back only contacts tagged Spam, so a real lead, an uncertain one, or one that couldn't be checked still reaches your team.

What does it cost?

Each form submission Doorman reads is one check, as for any Doorman form: Free includes 100 a month, Pro ($29 a month) 5,000, Business ($79) 50,000. Turning on protection starts 14 days of Pro, no card. The first clean-up reads up to 500 recent submissions, which count as checks.
